I saw this little house standing all alone in the wast moorlands that cover the Isle of Lewis. It was a very dark and rainy day but the bright green roof stood out and put a splash of colour into the otherwise grey and dull landscape. I painted the scene with the sun coming up at dawn and chasing away the grey and dark clouds by lighting up the whole scene with a warm glow. If you ever drive around the Isle of Lewis keep an eye out for the little house with the green roof.
